Last week Ilayathalapathy Vijay was shown a sneak preview of director Siddique's Malayalam film Bodyguard at a Chennai preview theatre.
He was accompanied by his wife Sangeeta. The film has Dileep and Nayanthara in the lead and is releasing in Kerala on January 21.
Siddique is one of the most successful film directors in south India who has made 9 films in 22 years and all of them have been super hits. Vijay and Siddique go a long way back to their Friends days.
It seems Vijay loved Bodyguard a romantic comedy with some family sentiments and action, and wants to remake it as his 51st film after he completes Sura.
Says Siddique: "Actually when I narrated Bodyguard story to Vijay two years back he was very keen to do it first in Tamil, but I always try out my films in Malayalam then only I will do in other languages."
Last week when Vijay was in Thiruvananthapuram, he told the media that after Sura, he will be doing the remake of the Siddique film. The buzz is that he is waiting for Bodyguard to release and gauge its box-office performance, before formally announcing its remake as his next project
