The wait is over. Asin is back with a bang in Kollywood!
One of the most popular actors in Tamil cinema has agreed to be the leading lady opposite Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the Tamil remake of Malayalam Bodyguard!
Sources close to Asin have confirmed that she has finally given her nod to do the Tamil remake. It will be the hat trick film for one of the most loved pair in Tamil, who are coming together after the super success of Sivakasi and Pokkiri.
The film will be directed by Siddique who did the original and produced by Sivaraju Venkatraju of Geetha Chitra International, who last made Priymanavale with Vijay in 2000.
Actually three years back when director Siddique had narrated the story to Asin she had promised to do it in Tamil, if Vijay was the hero. Asin is one person who never breaks a promise. And when Siddique after the release of Malayalam Bodyguard featuring Nayanthara and Dileep, said that he was ready with producer Raju's backing and Vijay's call sheet, Asin gave the green signal.
Siddique's Bodyguard is basically a beautiful love story and the heroine is the pivot around which the film revolves. Remember that in Malayalam, Nayanthara had done a brilliant job, which is one of her best performance till date.
Please note Asin in all her interviews has made it clear that she will do a south film if she gets a good script. In a way if Asin does the role in Tamil, it will be a fantastic come back for the actress.
Asin always wanted a pan Indian presence and after all doing a movie in south will enhance her repertoire of films.
Siddique who is now reworking the script is a very happy man, because he wrote the original keeping Asin in mind. The shoot of Bodyguard in Tamil is likely to start in the middle of March in Chennai.
