 The audio launch of Vijay's Velayudham, directed by Raja, was completely a fan's fair. The CSI Church grounds in Madurai was overflowing with thousands of his fans, who had travelled to Madurai from different districts. Singers from Lakshman Sruthi and music director Vijay Antony wowed the crowd with several Vijay hits, making it a musical evening. Sangeetha Rajeshwaran, Krishna Iyer, Harish Raghavendra and Madhumita also crooned three songs from the album. The frenzied moment came when Vijay made a grand entry, with drums thundering to welcome him. He waved to the audience before walking the ramp in style to pick two fans (Deepak and Uma Maheshwari) to release the album. Hansika did a 'Vanakkam Madurai' as the crowd broke into loud cheers. Raja and SAC were also present on the occasion. Vijay's Makkal Iyyakkam also conducted its monthly welfare distribution function at the same venue.  |
