Vijay's new movie with Asin, directed by Siddhique, has undergone a change in its title for the third time. The movie is a remake of Malayalam super hit Bodyguard. Since Vijay has a penchant for MGR's evergreen films titles (the earlier one being Vettaikkaran), his 51st movie was titled Kaavalkaran initially. But since the original producers of the MGR movie, Sathya Movies, were unwilling to part with the name, Vijay had to resort to a new title Kaaval Kaadhal. But the reactions from Ilayathalapathy's fans have not been encouraging as they felt the name wasn't appropriate. Finally, he has decided on Kaavalan, which sounds more apt for the theme and is the exact Tamil translation of Bodyguard.
Yet another buzz about the movie is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has acquired the entire rights for the film including its overseas release. When most of the Tamil community is up-in-arms against the movie because of Asin and the overseas business itself being in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram's bold move has surprised many. In the meantime, the grapevine has it that the Sura star has also shown keen interest to acquire the remake rights of Bollywood hunk Salman Khan's yet-to-be-released Dabangg, which is again a self-styled policeman story.
