Mani Ratnam Announces His New Film Posted: 11 May 2011 03:01 AM PDT Now that the latest reports has it that Mani Ratnam's dream project Ponniyin Selvan has been shelved completely the director is moving on to his next project. About Mani Ratnam's new project a source reveals, "This one would be a contemporary entertainer with mass elements, quite on the lines of the ace filmmaker's earlier ventures Agni Natchathiram, Nayagan and Thalapathi." The source further adds, "As in the past, Mani Ratnam may not make an official announcement on this project too till he completes considerable part of the shoot." On asking if Vijay who was considered for Ponniyin Selvan would be roped n for this project the source says, To this question, the sources say: "Though there is a possibility for it, the director has to take the final call."
