The committee members appreciated Jeyam Raja for having given a good family entertainer. Velayudham is an upcoming Tamil superhero film directed by Jayam Raja. It stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia in lead roles. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month.
Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film is currently in its post-production stage and expected to release during Diwali 2011. According to the director, the story would illustrate how an ordinary man becomes a "super hero".
